Meet the Team

Since 2018, Steve has employed his unique set of experiences in his work as an A-List tutor, teaching a wide variety of subjects to many students both one-on-one and in school courses. He has prepared his students for success on their SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, AP Exams, GCSEs, A-Levels, and IB curricula. In addition to academics, Steve also works as a coach with students in areas/needs beyond academics alone – whether helping a student with goal setting to manage homework and school-life balance, or advising a student through a longer-term extracurricular or creative project. Steve aims to act as a student’s personal coach – not here to simply teach or give answers, but to encourage and empower students to make their way confidently and independently through an academic challenge, particularly when the going seems really tough!

Steve joined A-List with over six years of tutoring experience both privately and for GradeSaver USA, where he worked as a ClassicNotes Author for GradeSaver USA.

Steve graduated with a BA with the Highest Honors from Harvard University, and an MSc with Distinction from the University of Oxford. His academic concentrations were in Cognitive Neuroscience and Theater/Dance/Media – as such, his training has provided him with a deep understanding of the core concepts and pedagogical approaches that aid students in fields of study spanning the humanities, the arts, STEM fields, and foreign languages. While Steve has helped many students looking to raise their test scores in a particular area, he is an especially good fit for students looking for a general boost across several sections of their standardized tests, or in multiple subjects at school.

Teaching aside, Steve is an award-winning theater and opera director. He was nominated in 2020 for Best Director at the Off West End Theatre Awards and was named winner of the 2017 American National Opera Association’s Best Production Award. His shows have been seen in the US, UK, China, and Taiwan.
