Tutor and Advisor Team
Senior Tutor
Brooke Bourgeois
Before joining A-List, Brooke worked in the US as a math tutor for elementary school students, as well as an SAT tutor for high school students, and as a post-graduate media fellow with Harvard’s Bok Center for Teaching and Learning at the university level. In her two years at A-List, Brooke has worked extensively in SAT and ACT prep as well as in subject-specific support in A-Level and AP Biology, IB Chemistry, AP Calculus, and high school level science, math, and writing support.

Brooke’s diverse academic background translates to her cross-disciplinary teaching style: always injecting a punch of humour, she enjoys bridging content areas to establish links between sciences and humanities for students who might prefer one over the other. She strives to leave each student with a toolbox with sequences of actions to take to approach specific problems unique to processing needs. As someone who felt academically lopsided as a student herself, Brooke decided to become a tutor in order to find ways of collaborating with the students themselves to optimise lasting understanding and problem-solving strategies, especially in visual processing.

Brooke graduated from Harvard University in 2017 with a B.A. in Neurobiology but switched course when she was awarded the Michael C. Rockefeller Memorial Fellowship to pursue storytelling and comedy in Scotland. Since then, she has pursued art, design, and comedy in the UK, studying communication design at the Royal College of Art. Currently, she is pursuing an MA at the Cambridge School of Art in Children’s Book Illustration.
