University Advisor, Senior Tutor
Chandler Waggoner
Chandler has been tutoring with A-List Education since 2016, joining the New York office before moving to the UK. He specialises in SAT and ACT tuition and is well versed in all subjects on both exams. He has extensive experience teaching students with dyslexia, working diligently to ensure they find success by catering to their individual needs. He has contributed to the redevelopment of the Book of Knowledge and has developed worksheets and practice materials for use as homework. He has successfully guided numerous students in both the UK and the USA through the specific challenges that these standardised tests present, working hard to keep them focused and motivated on their own growth and success.
Chandler takes an incredibly personal approach to his students, aiming to get to the core of each of their individual needs. He looks to build upon their academic and personal strengths and carefully guide them through their specific weaknesses. He builds a strong foundation for each student by working through the major content areas of the exams, teaching them to see beyond the questions on the page and identify trends across the test. Through the marriage of technique and content, he aims to empower his students, tailoring each lesson to their individual goals. He believes that progress is not a linear experience and aims to support his students in their growth when they hit struggles in their development. He always works hard to alleviate the stress of these exams for students, uplifting their own self-belief and confidence throughout all lessons.
Hailing from Bloomington, Indiana in the heart of the American Midwest, Chandler is a professional actor and playwright now based in the UK. In high school, he took both the SAT and the ACT and upon graduation he attended Cornell University. While at Cornell, he studied Theatre, English, and Climate Science graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2015. He was a member of the 123rd Tapping class of Quill & Dagger. Following Cornell, he earned an MA in Acting from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and an MLitt in Playwriting & Screenwriting at the University of St Andrews. In his spare time, Chandler is an avid swimmer, cyclist, and hiker.
