Meet the Team

Lesley’s career has been solidly in the field of academia. She graduated from Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, and subsequently went on to earn a MA in Cultural Studies at the University of Sussex and an MEd at Nova Southeastern in Florida.

Before joining A-List, Lesley taught History and Theory of Knowledge in the International Baccalaureate Diploma program for over twelve years. Lesley especially loved teaching Theory of Knowledge as the subject encourages students to think outside the proverbial boxes and to question all forms of knowledge in a creative yet rigorous way. While teaching in the IB programme, she underwent training to take up the role of university advisor at the school and, subsequently, wore the two hats of an IB teacher and advisor. In both her roles of teacher and advisor, Lesley strives to listen carefully to her students and tailor the help she gives to find the optimum outcomes for them in terms of their interests and aspirations.

In 2016 she began working with A-List as a university advisor until she went on to develop a creative-writing summer programme for pre-university students. She is now returning to A-List and is excited to be back on the team. Lesley is enthusiastic about helping students find a college that inspires them, nourishes their desire for learning, and, ultimately, encourages them to better the lives of others in their communities and the world at large. When she is not at her desk she would like to be cycling along the East Sussex coast or sipping endless cups of coffee in her hometown St. Leonards-On-Sea.

Lesley’s students have been accepted to schools including Columbia, Cornell, MIT, Yale, NYU Stern, and UPenn. Lesley also has experience in guiding students on their scholarship applications with full ride scholars at Yale, Princeton and UPenn.
