Nicholas is a born and bred northerner having spent his childhood in and around Newcastle upon Tyne. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in History and Literature. After two years out of academia, he is now studying Law (Jurisprudence) with senior status at the University of Oxford. As an undergraduate fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, he undertook three months of fieldwork for his senior thesis on the historical genealogy of the Falklands War. He was also named an Institute of Politics Director’s Intern, and used the grant associated to spend a summer working with a legal human rights NGO in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Outside of his academic interests, Nicholas splits his time between creative and other pursuits. He is a member of the Jesus College mooting team and the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. Additionally, while at Harvard, he was a board member of the Harvard International Review and the Hyperion Shakespeare Company. When he’s not teaching, Nicholas can be found cooking, reading novels, or writing short stories.
