Standard Tutor
Rebecca Brudner
Originally from New York City, Rebecca graduated cum laude from Yale University in 2016 with her BA in Theater Studies. At Yale she received multiple awards and grants, including the Branford College Class of 1960 Summer Fellowship, which enabled her to conduct thesis research on the Brontë sisters in West Yorkshire, an experience that inspired her to move to the UK! She recently graduated from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School with her MFA in acting.
Rebecca has more than 5 years' experience as an educator. She has tutored the SAT and ACT, as well as a range of academic subjects, including essay writing, critical reading, maths, and more. She has also worked with dozens of high school students as a college applications advisor, helping them navigate each step of the complex process, from building a list of potential schools, to writing personal essays, to preparing for interviews. In addition to her private tutoring and advising work, Rebecca taught English and history at an alternative middle school, building a unique curriculum that included studies of early civilisations, comparative mythology, and ancient philosophies.
Rebecca is the Co-Founder and Board Chair of Hear Your Song, a nonprofit organisation with a mission to empower kids and teens living with serious illness to make their voices heard through collaborative songwriting. Hear Your Song provides power and choice to young people with a wide range of diagnoses, both physical and mental health conditions, that so often deprive them of agency in their day-to-day lives. When not tutoring or writing songs with kids, Rebecca can be found performing on stage and screen, working on one of her several unfinished novels, or eating pierogis.
